Prerequisite: None. This course is designed for students majoring in nursing who want to learn basic phrases in Spanish as related to their daily activities. Students will learn dialogues related to specific nursing tasks (e.g., assessing medical history, assessing health risks, making appointments, etc.) and will also complete a portfolio focusing on communicating with Spanish-speaking patients.

Short practice dialogues with partners on assorted relevant topics will be used to teach necessary conversational and pronunciation skills. Prerequisite: None. American Sign Language is the fourth most commonly used language in the USA! Join us for an introduction to ASL and you'll be communicating in just one class! Through games, group exercises and videos, you'll learn the alphabet as well as some commonly used phrases. We'll also talk about ASL history as well as information about the Deaf Culture. This is an instructor facilitated online course for students with no previous keyboarding experience who wish to use the typewriter or microcomputer for personal, academic or professional work. This course includes keyboard layout, letter styles, and speed building exercises. Course grades will be determined by the score received on the first submission of the final exam.

Prerequisite: None. This course provides an insight into the capabilities of word processing equipment and the various applications of word processing software. Students will learn the basic principles of word processing and will employ those principles on word processing equipment. Participants will enter text into the system and will learn how to store data files. Other topics included in the course are edit functions, print functions, merging help functions and commands.
