Synthesis of several subdisciplines in biological sciences using technical reports, articles in the popular press and on the Internet. Integration of life sciences with history, fine arts, other cultures, social and ethical issues addressed through a variety of methods of inquiry with emphasis on communication skills and critical thinking. Satisfies the university general education requirement for a writing intensive course in the major. Prerequisite for writing intensive: completion of the university writing foundation requirement. Satisfies the university general education requirement for the capstone experience. Prerequisite: junior standing.
