Basic human anatomy and physiology with clinical emphasis, specifically for pre-nursing students. Lectures are closely tied to laboratory activities. Computer simulations of cadaver dissections are used to teach and test anatomy. Prerequisite: BIO 111.

The integration of organs into systems and systems into the organism. Selected aspects of developmental, comparative and microanatomy also will be discussed. Dissection and identification of the musculoskeletal system as well as other major organ systems using human cadavers. Prerequisite or corequisite: BIO 205.

A detailed study of general physiological principles and mechanisms with emphasis on systemic physiology. Normal physiology of individual organ systems will be explored, with stress on the role each plays in the human homeostatic balance. Offered fall and winter semesters. Prerequisite: BIO 111.

Satisfies the university general education requirement for a writing intensive course in general education or in the major, not both. Prerequisite for writing intensive: completion of the university writing foundation requirement.
