Survey of statistical methods used in the criminal justice field. Focus on the scientific method, hypothesis testing, descriptive and inferential statistics. Topics include measures of central tendency, probability theory, confidence intervals, frequency distributions, correlation and regression, sampling procedures and distributions, hypothesis testing, contingency tables, measures of association, and chi square, t-tests, analysis of variance, and interpreting research results.
