Career-related activities encountered in the student's area of specialization are offered through an individualized agreement among the college, employer, and student. Under the supervision of the college and the employer, the student combines classroom learning with work experience. The course provides on-the-job-training in the Child Development Associate (CDA) functional areas with emphasis on creative, cognitive, physical, communication, families, professionalism, and program management. It also includes ways to adapt teaching techniques and activities to meet the developmental needs of children with special needs. Prerequisites: Concurrent registration in CHED 043 and a minimum of 20 hours per week employment in an approved early childhood program.

It also includes child growth and development, working with children with special needs (including adapting the environment and guidance techniques for children with special needs), and observation skills. Prerequisites: Concurrent enrollment in CHED 073 Practicum - CDA Credential Training II.
