Emphasis is placed on the development of a systemic perspective of anatomical structures and physiological processes. Topics include: body organization, cell structure and functions, tissue classifications, the integumentary system, the skeletal system, the muscular system, the respiratory system, the digestive system, and the urinary system. Laboratory experience supports classroom learning.

Prerequisite: BIO 2113 Continues the study of the anatomy and physiology of the human body. Topics include: the reproductive system, the cardiovascular system, the blood and lymphatic systems, the nervous and sensory systems, the endocrine system, and the immune system. Introduces the touch system of keyboarding placing emphasis on correct techniques, mastery of the keyboard, and basic business documents. Students attain a minimum typing speed of 25 words per minute with a maximum of 3 errors on a 3-minute timed keyboarding test. Topics include: learning the keyboard, building speed and accuracy, formatting basic business documents, language arts, and proofreading. Laboratory practice parallels class instruction.

Students attain a minimum typing speed of 40 words per minute with a maximum of 5 errors on a 5 minute timed keyboarding test. Topics include: building speed and accuracy, formatting and producing business documents, language arts, and proofreading. Laboratory practice parallels class instruction.

Students attain a minimum typing speed of 50 words per minute with a maximum of 5 errors on a 5 minute timed keyboarding test. Topics include: building speed and accuracy, integrated projects/applications, decision making, language arts, and proofreading. Laboratory practice parallels class instruction.

Prerequisites: Program Admission; SCT 100 with a minimum grade of "C" Emphasizes use of database management software packages to access, manipulate, and create file data. Topics include: data entry, data access, database creation, and file documentation.

Topics include: office protocol, time management, telecommunications and telephone techniques, office equipment, office mail, references, records management, and travel and meeting arrangements.

Topics include: application of word/information processing skills, communication skills, telecommunication skills, and records management skills; public relation skills, use of office equipment, and office equipment/supplies procurement.
