Prerequisites: AHS 101, AHS 104, AHS 109, ENG 191, PSY 101, MAT 103, SCT 100 with a minimum grade of "C" in each course Corequisites: AHS 103, NSG 110 This course utilizes basic mathematical concepts and includes basic drug administration. Emphasizes critical thinking skills. Topics include: systems of measurement, calculating drug problems, resource materials usage, basic pharmacology, administering medications in a simulated clinical environment, principles of IV therapy techniques, and client education.

Prerequisite: AHS 101, AHS 104, AHS 109, ENG 191, PSY 101, MAT 103, SCT 100 with a minimum grade of “C in each course Corequisites: AHS 102, NSG 110 Presents a study of the nutritional needs of the individual. Topics include: nutrients, standard and modified diets, nutrition throughout the life span, and client education.

Prerequisites/Corequisites: Advisor Approval Introduces a grouping of fundamental principles, practices and issues common to many specializations in the health care profession. In addition to the essential skills, students explore various delivery systems and related issues. Topics include: basic life support/CPR, basic emergency care/first aid and triage, vital signs, infection control, and blood/air-borne pathogens.

Prerequisite: Program Admission (Student must be program ready by completing all learning support courses.) Introduces the elements of medical terminology. Emphasis is placed on building familiarity with medical words through knowledge of roots, prefixes, and suffixes. Topics include: origins, word building, abbreviations and symbols, terminology related to the human anatomy, reading medical orders and reports, and terminology specific to the student's field of study.

This course is designed to orient the student to the management responsibilities of the apartment industry. Topics include an introduction to the apartment industry, apartment marketing and leasing, financial reporting, legal and legislative issues, fair housing, risk management, property management, professional enrichment, and career development.

Prerequisites: AIP 110; MSD Electives This course is designed to give students an opportunity to experience the industry work environment and to apply the skills learned in the classroom. Topics include the application of classroom knowledge and skills, use of interpersonal skills, adaptability to the workplace environment, problem solving techniques, and safety.

Introduces the learners to the manufacturing industry. Learners are provided with an overview of the functional and structural composition of organizations. Topics include supply and demand, product flow, types of manufacturing process, structure of manufacturing organizations, manufacturing business principles, employee impact on the bottom line, and workplace ethics.

This course provides the personal and interpersonal effectiveness skills required to succeed in the manufacturing environment. Topics include listening, communication, team skills, personal wellness, managing change, and creating a positive image.
