Prerequisite: Program admission level English, reading, and math scores Introduces networking technologies and prepares students to take CompTIAs broad-based, vendor independent networking certification exam, Network +. Covers a wide range of material about networking, from careers in networking to local area networks, wide area networks, protocols, topologies, transmission media, and security. Focuses on operating network management systems, and implementing the installation of networks. It reviews cabling, connection schemes, the fundamentals of both the LAN and WAN technologies, TCP-IP configuration and troubleshooting, remote connectivity, and network maintenance and troubleshooting.

Topics include: word processing fundamentals, desktop publishing fundamentals, advanced word processing concepts, development of macros, presentation graphics concepts, and troubleshooting applications.

Common elements of Windows applications will be discussed, created and manipulated using Microsoft's Visual Studio development environment. Topics include: numeric data types and variables, decision making structures, validating input with strings and functions, repetition and multiple forms, test files, arrays, lists and common dialog controls.

Prerequisite: CIS 1491 with a minimum grade of "C" in each course Intermediate C# teaches client-server systems, n-tier development environments, relational databases, use of SQL to access data, the use of ADO.NET objects, methods and properties to access and update relational and XML databases. Advanced features of C# Windows programming are explored.
