FREN 1010 First Year French I (4L,4CR) [E] This course is intended for students who have never studied French at the college level. Students will learn the fundamentals of the French language through listening, speaking, reading, and writing activities at the ACTFL (American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages) Novice High Level. The course will also introduce students to the culture of various French-speaking countries. Language laboratory times are required as needed. Students who want to take for credit the next course in the sequence must complete this course with grade of a 'C' or better. Prerequisite: None; however, the course is strongly recommended for students who have completed the equivalent of 0-5 semesters of high school French.
