The Alpine Guide Course is designed for those who have completed as a minimum the Rock Instructor course and who wish to learn the specific skills of alpine guiding. This course addresses the tools, techniques and theory used to guide and instruct on routes up to and including Grade IV or V in length, efficient management of 3rd and 4th class terrain, technical descents, management and movement of multiple clients, along with advance skills for small team rescues. The AMGA Single Pitch Instructor Course is designed to enable instructors to 'proficiently facilitate and instruct the sport of rock climbing in a single pitch setting'. The program is for current, active rock climbers that have a real desire to teach rock climbing to novices in a single pitch setting. Class will focus on the natural history of Canyonlands National Park whilst day hiking. Attention will be given to contemporary resource management challenges and their relationship to user behaviors. In addition, the course will focus on safety, leave no trace ethics, consumerism, and environmental ethics. Not enrolled in a high school program.

Students will develop a greater understanding and appreciation of the environment in Bryce canyon National Park. This will be accomplished by traveling and hiking in the area and experiencing the environment first-hand. Some topics covered include: natural history, geology, ecology, resource management, and developing or improving general outdoor skills (risk management, camping, hiking, etc). This class serves students who may prefer foot travel exploration without the burden of backpacks. Not enrolled in a high school program.

This class will focus on the natural history of Capitol Reef National Park while day hiking. Attention will be given to contemporary resource management challenges and their relationship to user behaviors. Natural history of Arches National Park. Includes hiking and examination of contemporary resource management issues as well as issues related to environmental ethics and visitor behavior. Overnight camping. Not enrolled in a high school program.

This class will involve overnight camping, day hikes, and dark sky exploration. It will take us into Arches National Park, Dead Horse Point State Park, and surrounding public lands to explore a sampling of trails, arches, vistas, overlooks, and the celebrated dark skies of Southern Utah. From our base camp at Dead Horse Point State Park, we will venture out by foot during the day to explore what the area offers. At night we will journey into the cosmos to learn about the celebrated dark skies of southern Utah, explore cultural interpretations of constellations, and learn why our state has more dark sky parks than any other in the nation. This class has two class meetings and a field experience associated with it. Attendance at both class meetings is mandatory. Not enrolled in a high school program.
