This course develops skills and knowledge related to performing, recruitment, and leadership with special emphasis on representing Utah Tech University to prospective students through live and virtual group performance. Students will develop skills as featured vocalists, an ensemble member, as well as enhance movement abilities for the physical performer. Repertoire will focus on many genres of contemporary music from the twentieth to the twenty-first century. This course provides training and experience in music studio recording and editing techniques. Classroom instruction is combined with hands-on studio experience. Topics covered include proper care and use of studio equipment; tracking, mixing, and mastering of digital audio; and microphone selection and placement. **COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES (CLOs) At the successful conclusion of this course, students will be able to: 1. Demonstrate proper care and use of studio equipment, including microphone choice and placement for a variety of sound sources. 2. Create solo and small ensemble recordings in a studio environment. 3.
