Prerequisites: Texas Success Initiative complete in Reading and Writing. Students should be familiar with the PC keyboard. Overview of computer information systems. Introduces computer hardware, software, procedures, systems, and human resources and explores their integration and application in business and other segments in society. The fundamentals of computer problem solving and programming in a higher-level programming language may be discussed and applied. Also provides instruction in word processing, spreadsheets, database, and/or presentation software. A student may receive credit by passing a CLEP Exam for this course. NOTE: No Credit if BCIS 1305 taken.
