Prerequisite: Texas Success Initiative complete in Reading and COSC 1301 or BCIS 1305 or ITSC 1309 or ITSC 1305 (ITSC 1321) Introduction to database theory and the practical applications of a database. The student will identify database terminology and concepts; plan, define, and design a database; design and generate tables, forms, and reports; and devise and process queries.

Prerequisite: Texas Success Initiative complete in Reading and COSC 1301 or BCIS 1305 or ITSC 1309 or ITSC 1305 (ITSC 1321) Instruction in the utilization of presentation software to produce multimedia presentations. Graphics, text, sound, animation and/or video may be used in presentation development. Includes use of digital camera to include images in presentations. Students will burn CDs to store presentations and learn how to set up a presentation on an LCD.

Prerequisite: ITSY 1342 and ITNW 2305 or consent of instructor. Safeguard computer operating systems by demonstrating server support skills and designing and implementing a security system. Identity security threats and monitor network security implementations. Use best practices to configure operating systems to industry security standards.

Prerequisite: ITSY 1342 or consent of instructor. Identify elements of firewall design, types of security threats and responses to security attacks. Use best practices to design, implement, and monitor a network security plan. Examine security incident postmortem reporting and ongoing network security activities.

In-depth coverage of security management practices, including asset evaluation and risk management; cyber law and ethics issues; policies and procedures; business recovery and business continuity planning; network security design; and developing maintaining a security plan.

Prerequisite: ITSY 2300 and ITSY 2301 or consent of instructor In-depth coverage of incident response and incident handling, including identifying sources of attacks and security breaches; analyzing security logs; recovering the system to normal; performing postmortem analysis; and implementing and modifying security measures.

This course is designed for students who score 189 or less on the mathematics section of THEA or equivalent on an approved alternate math assessment test. Student should be in need of a review of basic mathematics and pre-algebra concepts. Topics include number concepts and arithmetic skills, word problems, graphs, tables, elementary algebraic skills, elementary two and three dimensional geometry, Pythagorean Theorem and reasoning skills, basic concepts of statistics, and the metric system. The course does not count toward graduation from The Victoria College.

A grade of C or better in Math 0300 or scores between 190 and 229 on THEA or equivalent on an approved alternate math assessment test. This course is designed for students who have a good understanding of basic mathematics and pre-algebra concepts. Students should be ready to master fundamental algebraic manipulations. Topics include a review of the real number system, fundamental algebraic skills, solving equations, inequalities, exponents, radicals, graphing, word problems, quadratic equations, and concepts from geometry. The course does not count toward graduation from The Victoria College.
