This course is designed to acquaint the student with the fundamentals of preventative medicine and common diseases present in the large animal species. Aspects of equine, bovine, ovine and porcine diseases and common treatments will be emphasized. Prerequisites: Enrollment in the Veterinary Technology Program, VETE 3207.

This course focuses on the theories, concepts and principles of leadership. Emphasis will be on the development of leadership skills through the four domains of leadership strength: Executing, Influencing, Relationship Building, and Stategic Thinking. Prerequisites: Enrollment in the Veterinary Technology Program. VETE 1102.

This course is designed to coincide with VETE 3207 and acquaint the student with the fundamentals of large animal husbandry, herd health management, preventive medicine, animal restraint and nutrition as it relates to the bovine, equine, porcine, and caprine species. Prerequisites: Enrollment in the Veterinary Technology Program, VETE 1307, VETE 1208. Lab fee: $35.

Radiology I teaches veterinary technician students the fundamentals of taking and developing radiographs. Topics include positioning, how radiographs are generated, fundamentals of film processing, radiographic techniques and quality, and radiation safety procedures. Other imaging technologies include ultrasound, fluoroscopy, MRI, CT scan, and nuclear scintigraphy. Pre-requisite: Enrollment in the Veterinary Technology Program.

This course is a continuation of VETE 3201. It advances the veterinary technology student to competently perform a wide range of radiologic procedures on a cross section of domestic animals. It also provides skills to take ultrasounds and other imaging sequences for diagnostic and surgical provedures. Pre-requisites: Enrollment in the Veterinary Technology Program, VETE 3201.

This lecture course is designed to introduce the veterinary technician student to hematology, cytology, and microbiology. The kinetics of the hematopoietic system are discussed with emphasis on normal smearsand cultures and common changes seen during disease states of domestic animals. Pre-requisites: Enrollment in the Veterinary Technology Program.

This course serves as a continuation of VETE 303 and covers topics of immunology, organ function, and diagnostic testing. Additional topics include normal and abnormal exfoliative cytology, veterinary microbiology, and the evaluation of endocrine disorders. Pre-requisites: Enrollment in the Veterinary Technology Program, VETE 303.

This course is designed to acquaint the student with the fundamentals of farm animal herd health management, reproductive physiology, and lactation physiology. Major aspects of farm animal husbandry will be discussed. Prerequisites: Enrollment in the Veterinary Technology Program, VETE 1307, VETE 1208.

A study of the basic managerial functions of planning, organizing, staffing, directing, and controlling resources to accomplish organizational goals. The systems concept of management and role of the manager in each level of the organization are emphasized. Prerequisites: Junior classification or approval of department head.

Fundamental functions of human resources management; relationship between personnel management and organizations' emerging role of personnel administration in development of strategic policy for organizations. Prerequisites: MGMT/VETE 3301
