A study of the drama, poetry, and prose of the “long eighteenth century.” The course reads the works of such writers as Dryden, Swift, Pope, and Johnson within their cultural contexts. Prerequisites: ENG 164, 165, either 265 or 266, and 3 hrs. of ENG 300-level. Credit 3.
