Practical general training and experiences in the workplace. The college with the employer develops and documents an individualized plan for the student. The plan relates the workplace training and experiences to the student's general and technical course of study. The guided external experiences may be paid or unpaid. (21 Ext.) This course will cover how game technology can be used to enhance learning in today's K-12 classrooms. Students will learn to identify how games teach and why they work by analyzing examples and case studies of game-based instruction. Topics include learning strategies, evaluation of both commercial games in an educational setting and also games that have been specifically created with educational objectives, and the creation of a design plan for a digital game to be used in the classroom. (2 Lec., 4 Lab.)

Topics include identification of causes of inappropriate behavior, establishing and managing routines, the environment's role in promoting positive behavior, promoting self-esteem negotiation/conflict resolution strategies, and enhancing positive self-direction. Emphasis in implementation of a behavior management plan. (3 Lec.)

This project based course will provide an opportunity to development, implement, and demonstrate the application of multimedia, instructional planning, and game technology in K - 12 Content Area classrooms with an emphasis on meeting the needs of diverse learners. Topics include ethics, research, multimedia tools, instructional planning, interactive game technology software, assistive learning technology, and assessment. (2 Lec., 4 Lab.)
