Introduction to original and creative drawing using graphite and carbon pencils to draw a variety of still-life displays creating form, shape, and three dimensional views using shading, value range, depth, proportion, and various art materials. Development of layout skills; hand/eye coordination; and accurate observation of shape, texture, and tone. (1 Lec., 1 Lab.)

Introduction to the techniques of drawing the human figure with emphasis on gesture and contour technique. Topics include structure of the human form in relation to drawing body proportions; bone and muscle structure of the human form and the bone and muscle components of human hands and other appendages.
