Students create powerful and dynamic real-world programs through the use of Visual Basic for applications (VBA). The robust features provided by VBA are achieved through the combination of Access, Excel, and Visual Basic in one single business application. PREREQUISITE: IT 102 and 201.

Students will learn to install, configure, monitor, and troubleshoot network infrastructure equipment. Topics include configuration of EIGRP, OSPF, IS_IS, and BGP routing protocols, and how to manipulate and optimize routing updates between those protocols. Other topics include multicast routing, IPv6, and DHCP configuration. PREREQUISITE: IT 212 or instructor's permission.

Students will learn how to secure and expand the reach of an enterprise network with a focus on VPN configuration and securing network access. Topics include teleworker configuration and access, frame-mode MPLS, site-to-site IPSEC VPN, Cisco EZVPN, strategies used to mitigate network attacks, Cisco device hardening, and IOS firewall features. PREREQUISITE: IT 212 or instructor's permission.

Focuses on the selection and implementation of the appropriate Cisco IOS services to build reliable, scalable, multilayer-switched LANs. Focus areas of the course include VLANs, Spanning Tree Protocol, wireless client access, minimizing service loss, and minimizing data theft in a campus network. PREREQUISITE: IT 211.

Introduces students to effective QoS techniques for optimization in converged networks with voice, wireless, and security applications. Topics include implementing a VoIP network, specific mechanisms for implementing the DiffServ QoS model, AutoQoS, wireless security, and basic wireless management. PREREQUISITE: IT 212 or instructor's permission.

Provides hands-on technologies deliver powerful database solutions and prepare for the Microsoft Certified Professional Exam (MCP). Students gain practical experience designing and implementing data- driven business applications using SQL server (current version) enterprise edition. While building these real-world design skills, the students are also preparing for MCP exam 70-229 a core exam for MCDBA certification and a key elective on the MCSE and MCSD tracks. Provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to design and implement a security framework for small, medium, and enterprise networks. Students learn how to design and implement a public key infrastructure, configure virtual private networks, implement IPSec, harden servers, configure auditing, and perform audits. PREREQUISITE: IT 190 and 240; or instructor's permission.

Defines and describes in detail the five phases of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC): systems planning, systems analysis, systems design, systems implementation, and systems operation and support. Provides students with a comprehensive Systems Analysis Toolkit that highlights the importance of communication, economic analysis, and project planning skills across all phases of the SDLC. PREREQUISITE: IT 115, 130 and 201.
