Provides a review of the material covered in Beginning and/or Intermediate Algebra. This material is reordered for a "just-in-time" review to complement the MATH 1171, Statway IA. Statway IB and Statway IIB must be taken in consecutive semesters. Prerequisite: MATH 0301 with a "C" or better, ME01. Corequisite: MATH 1171. (2:0).

Introduces basic mathematical concepts and skills of the real numbers including whole numbers, integers, fractions, decimals, ratios, percents, and an introduction to geometry. Extends the use of operations on the real numbers using applications in business and geometry. May not be counted toward graduation requirements. Includes topics on solving linear equations, systems of linear equations and inequalities in two variables. Provides introduction which covers functions, fundamental operations on polynomial, and factoring. May not be counted toward graduation requirements. Extends the study of beginning algebra. Includes topics on factoring polynomials, rational expressions and equations, radical expressions and equations, fractional exponents, complex numbers, quadratic equations, nonlinear inequalities, and exponential and logarithmic expressions. Covers the introduction of rational, radical, quadratic, exponential and logarithmic functions. May not be counted toward graduation requirements. Introduces students to concepts and methods of statistics with an emphasis on data analysis. Includes topics on methods for collecting data; graphical and numerical descriptive statistics; correlation; simple linear regression; and basic concepts of probability. Statway I and Statway II must be taken in consecutive semesters. Prerequisite: MATH 0301 with a "C" or better or ME01. (1:0).

Presents selected topics in algebra including some review topics. Addresses models that include linear, quadratic, exponential and logarithmic functions. Addresses other models, including compound interest, break even, and matrices. Introduces probability and statistics. Prerequisite: MATH 0305 with a "C" or better, ME05, or by placement exam. (3:0).

Develops essential competence in their use as powerful aids to thought and communication (both quantitative and qualitative), problem statement and resolution (including estimating techniques when appropriate) in both "real world" and "abstract world" domains. Prerequisite: MATH 0301 with a "C" or better, ME01, or by placement exam. (3:0).
