CHIN 1412: Beginning Chinese II

This is a Texas Common Course Number. Prerequisite: CHIN 1411 or the equivalent or demonstrated competence approved by the instructor. This is the second semester of academic transfer Chinese. This course continues the oral practice, reading, writing, grammar and cultural studies begun in CHIN 1411. Students are expected to acquire a substantial amount of vocabulary and begin to deal with idiomatic language and more advanced syntax. This course is cross-listed as CHIN 1312, which is used only in Study Abroad programs. Students may register for either CHIN 1312 or CHIN 1412 but may receive credit for only one of the two.
