Also covers determination of residential energy loads and their comparison to onsite power generation and an exploration of off-grid, on-grid, net-zero, and distributed applications. (3 Lec., 1 Lab.)

Evaluation of existing homes and retrofit strategies to improve energy efficiency and environmental quality. Includes retrofitting a home for onsite power generation. Covers using a whole-house approach to evaluate the effects of comfort, safety, indoor environmental quality, financial incentives, cost effectiveness, environmental impact, energy efficiency, and the movement of heat, moisture, and air through the building enclosure. A study of neighborhood-sustained design strategies and applications that integrate the principles of green building and smart growth. Emphasizes basic neighborhood planning, utility infrastructure, land-use patterns, general zoning, subdivision practices, and quantitative methods to evaluate neighborhood development. A summary of the skills needed to be a residential building performance specialist. Emphasizes onsite building testing, use of evaluation software and rating criteria, production of reports, and presentation of recommendations to improve residential building performance. (2 Lec., 3 Lab.)

This is a capstone course that provides the student with laboratory experience in the installation, set-up, and testing of robotic cells. Topics include maintenance. The student will demonstrate familiarity with hardwiring and interfacing PLCs, robots, CNC equipment, and support equipment; troubleshoot and debug equipment to make it function in a live automated environment; and apply design techniques to maintain maximum cycle times on an automated system. Provides instruction on current provisions of the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP). Students are required to complete this course prior to license/certification renewal. This course may be repeated for credit. (1 Lec.)

An overview of licensing as a real estate broker and salesperson, ethics of practice, titles to and conveyancing of real estate, legal descriptions, law of agency, deeds, encumbrances and liens, distinctions between personal and real property, contracts, appraisal, finance and regulations, closing procedures, and real estate mathematics. Also includes federal, state, and local laws relating to housing discrimination, housing credit discrimination, and community reinvestment. This course must be taken concurrently with RELE 2209. This course is cross-listed as RELE 1301. The student may register for either RELE 1201 or RELE 1301, but may receive credit for only one of the two. (2 Lec.)
