Career related activities encountered in the student's area of specialization are offered through a cooperative agreement between the college, employer, and student. Under supervision of the college and the employer, the student combines classroom learning with work experience. Directly related to a technical discipline, specific learning objectives guide the student through the paid work experience. (1 Lec., 15 Lab.)

A work-based learning experience that enables the student to apply specialized occupational theory, skills and concepts. A learning plan is developed by the college and the employer. (16 Ext.)

Instruction in the repair, replacement, and/or service of those mechanical or electrical systems that are subject to damage from a collision. Topics include drive train removal, reinstallation and service; cooling system service; cooling system service and repair; exhaust system service; and emission control systems. Additional topics include wire and connector repair, reading wiring diagrams, and troubleshooting. (2 Lec., 6 Lab.)

Skill development in the operation of equipment and the procedures involved in making satisfactory repairs of supporting structures on both conventional and unitized constructed vehicles. Special emphasis on conducting a thorough damage analysis as well as demonstrating proper holding, blocking, and pulling. (3 Lec., 6 Lab.)

Instruction in preparation of vehicles for repair including removal and reinstallation of fenders, bumpers, trims, head and door liners, locks, handles, fascia, headers, doors, tailgates, deck lids, hatches, and hoods. Interpreting information from damage reports, planning repair sequences, selecting appropriate tools, and organizing removed parts for reinstallation are also included. Special emphasis on developing safe work habits. (3 Lec., 6 Lab.)

A study of the basic shaping techniques required for fabricating sheet metal parts and pieces that can be applied in the building of custom cars and street rods. (3 Lec., 6 Lab.)

This course covers the theory and practice of measuring and interpreting financial data for business units. Basic concepts, principles, and procedures are applied to the following topics: operating cycle, accruals and deferrals, financial statements, internal controls, receivables, inventory, fixed assets, and liabilities. This course is cross-listed as Accounting 2401. The student may register for either Accounting 2301 or Accounting 2401, but may receive credit for only one of the two. (3Â Lec.) Basic concepts, principles, and procedures are applied to the following topics: preparation and analysis of financial statements, budgeting, cash flow, cost systems, responsibility accounting, and cost-volume-profit analysis.
