Concepts of CIM are introduced. Emphasis on using computers to automate a total manufacturing system. Hands-on experiences integrating CAD/CAM, robotics, fluid power, CNC machines, vision systems, recognition equipment, PLCs and conveyor systems. (3 Lec., 3 Lab.)

Focus on current global concerns, including, global warming, overpopulation, deforestation, pollution, biodiversity and resource use.
