M ST 262 is a continuation of M ST 261. Students will use skills acquired in M ST 260 and M ST 261 to write, direct, produce and edit complete video projects. Students will also work on student produced programs. Projects will include: A fully produced instructional video and short video stories. Students will also take part in recording the College Graduation in mid June and other productions outside of the regular classroom meeting times.

Practice and perfect your announcing skills on the campus Radio Station. M ST 271 allows students to practice their communication and technical skills needed to run a Radio Station. Students will do various "Air Shift" on the campus Radio Station (KCED FM) while followign the KCED Station Policy, FCC Rules and Regulations. They will also fill out required station logs, take "Air checks" and meet bi-monthly for critique sessions with the instructor. Prerequisite: M ST 230 and 231, or instructor's permission

An advanced course in Radio Broadcasting: program director's responsibilities, various programming theories and promotional tools used to increase a station's ratings. Ways to prepare for a radio show and employment paths in the industry will also be explored. Prerequisite: M ST 230 or instructor's permission.

For the student that has not previously had exposure to musical notation and would like to read music to enter the field of music, or for personal use. The skills acquired can be used to perform and create printed music. The student must have access to a piano keyboard. (Practice rooms with pianos are available at the college).

A course designed for non-majors. Principal objective is to increase the student's understanding of the great music of our culture and to expose him/her to music or other cultures. Prior musical experience not necessary for success in the course. No prerequisites.

Designed to acquaint the student with notation of complete scores using music notation on the computer. Topics to be covered will include: score presentation, layout, voice layering, lyric entry, speedy note entry, key changes, meter and staff attributes. Co-requisite: MUSC& 131. Prerequisite: must read music

A beginning music course to prepare elementary education majors for the upper division course or courses which they will take to complete the education degree. Also aimed at the student seeking an AA degree who may have an interest in learning the mechanics of music reading and composition. In addition this course can be taken in preparation for those students who wish to major in music but who do not have enough basic skills to begin the Music Theory Sequence. No prerequisite.

An aural study of musical scales and intervals, designed for music majors and minors. Emphasis on dictation, sight singing, and functional keyboard skill. Required of all music majors. The students must simultaneously register for MUSC& 131 with MUSC& 121. Prerequisite for MUSC& 122 is MUSC& 121, Prerequisite for MUSC& 123 is MUSC& 122, students must be able to read music

A study of music as an integral component of Ballet, Opera, and Musical Theater. Consists of three segments which can be taken as a whole, MUSC 123 (5 credits), or individually as follows: MUSC 124-Ballet (1), MUSC 125-Opera (1), and MUSC 127-Musical Theater (3). Prior musical or drama experience is not required for success in the course. If the student has deficiencies in reading or writing, this course is not recommended.
