This is a WECM Course Number. Prerequisite: Students must have succe"sfully completed all previous program and support courses with a grade of "C" or better. Corequisite: Students must be concurrently enrolled in DSAE 2404 and DSAE 2660. Instruction in advanced echocardiographic procedures. Topics include stress echo, related diagnostic imaging, and related noninvasive cardiac testing. (3 Lec.)

Corequisite: Students must be concurrently enrolled in DSAE 2437 and DSAE 2661. Knowledge, skills, and professional values within a legal and ethical framework addressing emerging technologies and professional development as it relates to the field of Echocardiography. Laboratory will include ergonomic scanning techniques and equipment applications associated with technological advances in the field of echocardiography. (3 Lec., 1 Lab.)

This is a WECM Course Number. Prerequisite: Grade of "C" or better in all previous courses. An emphasis on adult acquired cardiac pathologies. Topics include cardiovascular pathophysiology, quantitative measurements, and the application of 2-D, M-Mode, and Doppler. Recognition of the sonographic appearances of cardiovascular disease is stressed. (3 Lec., 3 Lab.)

This is a WECM Course Number. Prerequisite: Grade of "C" or better in all previous courses. A continuation of Echocardiographic Evaluation of Pathology I with emphasis on cardiac disease. A discussion of quantitative measurements and application of 2-D, M-Mode, Doppler, and recognition of the sonographic appearances of cardiac disease is stressed. (3 Lec., 3 Lab.)

Corequisite: Students must be concurrently enrolled in DSAE 2303, DMSO 2343, and DSPE 1271. A health related work-based learning experience that enables the student to apply specialized occupational theory, skills, and concepts. Direct supervision is provided by the clinical professional. Prerequisite: Admission to the program. Corequisite: Students must be concurrently enrolled in DSAE 2303, DMSO 2343, and DSPE 1270. An introduction to pediatric echocardiography techniques and procedures. Emphasis is placed on the sonographic appearance of the normal pediatric heart. (2 Lec.)

Prerequisite: Students must have successfully completed all previous program and support courses with a grade of "C" or better. Corequisite: Students must be concurrently enrolled in DSPE 2470 and DSPE 2670. Instruction in advanced pediatric echocardiographic procedures. Topics include: 12 lead EKG interpretation, Transesophageal echocardiography, the use of contrast, Intra-operative and interventional procedures. Considerations associated with intensive care of the pediatric patient will be addressed and include; intracardiac monitoring lines and other accessories of the post-operative pediatric patient, pharmacological treatments, and other therapies. (3 Lec.)

Prerequisite: Students must have successfully completed all previous program and support courses with a grade of "C" or better. Corequisite: Students must be concurrently enrolled in DSPE 2371 and DSPE 2670. A study of cardiac embryology, fetal circulation and cardiac congenital disease. This course will cover anomalies of; cardiac position, venous return, A-V valves and the atria and ventricles. Emphasis will be placed on defect anatomy and hemodynamic consequences, and the surgical repair or other treatment options associated with each anomaly. Echocardiographic imaging in the pre and post surgical patient will be covered. (3 Lec., 3 Lab.)
