This is a WECM Course Number. A study of the different types of building systems and materials used in the design and construction of real property. Covers residential construction and commercial building systems and materials. Includes different structural building systems with emphasis on wood-related products, concrete and concrete masonry, brick, stone and steel units. The Texas Real Estate Commission Promulgated Property Condition Addendum will be addressed along with inspector and client agreements, tools and procedures, and electro-mechanical systems. (3 Lec.)

An overview of licensing as a real state broker and salesman; ethics of practice; titles to and conveyancing of real estate; legal descriptions; law of agency; deeds; encumbrances and liens; distinctions between personal and real property; contracts; appraisal; discrimination; housing credit discrimination, and community reinvestment. This course is cross-listed as RELE 2209. The student may register for either RELE 2309 or RELE 2209, but may receive credit for only one of the two. (3 Lec.)

Prerequisite: Developmental Reading 0093 or English as a Second Language (ESOL) 0044 or have met the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) standard in Reading. This course surveys the major world religions. Hinduism, Buddhism, Judaism, Islam, and Christianity are included. The history of religions is covered, but the major emphasis is on current beliefs.
