Advanced GIS is designed for the student who wants to pursue a career in GIS. The course will focus on sophisticated spatial analyses such as density mapping, least-cost analysis, map algebra, line-of-sight analysis, andspatial modeling using ESRI's Spatial Analyst and 3-D Analyst extensions. Survey of earth sciences throughan examination of natural hazards including causes and effects, of earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanoes, fl oods, landslides, hurricanes, tornadoes, wildfi res, climate change, and impacts of extraterrestrial objects.
