In-deptcoverage of electronic systems, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair. Topics include symptom identifi cation, proper repair procedures, repair checkout, and preventative maintenance. Emphasis on safety and proper use of test equipment. The course covers the troubleshooting of various types of industrial equipment to include mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and their control devices. Emphasis will be placed on the use of schematics and diagrams in conjunction with proper troubleshooting procedures. May be offered as a capstone course. Topics include DC and AC motors and controllers, servo motors, stepping motors, solenoids, linear motors, and actuators. This course will providestudents with a general understanding of the different aspects of power, such as generation, transmission, distribution, regulatory requirements, and safety issues. It will review the elements that compose power systems. It includes an introduction to electric utility planning, design, operation, maintenance, and fi nancing. It will also review a variety of fuels used, generation systems, transmission types, distribution structures and operation, customer interface types, regulatory requirements, generation plant operations, a safety overview, electrical power system standards, and some power engineering concepts.
