This clinical rotation is designed for physician assistant students who are required to demonstrate competency in this field of medicine for licensure in the state of Tennessee. Students will demonstrate the ability to perform a comprehensive history and physical exam, formulate an appropriate diagnosis and list of differential diagnoses, develop a care plan, present a patient to their preceptor, and document these results in the patient's chart. Students will integrate advances in family medicine with their current knowledge and demonstrate the ability to follow the guidelines for the current standard of care for patients.
