This semi-intensive class offers one year of Spanish (6 semester hours) in one semester. This class serves as an introduction to basic Spanish, and offers tools for basic interpersonal communication skills. The focus is on pronunciation, grammar, and vocabulary using verbal activities, written exercises, conversation, dictation, lab work, and easy reading material. (Fall-This class meets for a two-hour block per session instead of the usual one-hour time frame)

These classes provide a systematic review of grammar with oral practice and some written composition with further reading of modern Spanish prose by both Spanish and Spanish American writers, Prerequisites: S 101, 102, or two years of high school Spanish. (Summer)

This class is the second year equivalent to S104. Students will get one year (6 hours) of intermediate level Spanish in one semester. This class provides a systematic review of grammar with oral practice, written compositions and some reading of modern Spanish prose by both Spanish and Spanish American writers. Prerequisite: S104 or permission of the instructor. (Spring-This class also meets for a two-hour period per class)

An in-depth study of grammar with some reading activities, focusing on composition and conversation skills for the student who wants to further his or her command of the Spanish language or work toward a minor in language. Prerequisite: Completion of first and second year Spanish. (Fall)

This second semester offering of required course work for a minor in the Spanish language will serve as an introduction to Spanish-American literature. The primary focus will be on reading and discussing selections from contemporary writers from Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America. Prerequisite: S 301. (Spring)
