Credits: 3 This course covers the flow of paper and electronic documents through the information processing cycle, from creation to distribution, retention and destruction. The Internet and MSWord will be used for gathering information and creating documents. MSAccess will be used for records management projects. Credits: 4 A general overview of the field of Opticianry, intended to provide the student with a broad base for more advanced study. Included is the history of Opticianry, the visual sense, basic geometric optics, normal and abnormal vision, lens theory and design, frame design and principles of decentration, government regulations and licensure, as well as an introduction to the ophthalmic dispensing clinic. (4 hours lecture, 3 hours clinic)
