    Prerequisites: CHEM 320, BIOL 141 or 142, and 410. This course represents a comprehensive interdisciplinary approach to the understanding of the complexities of the wise use of natural resources, the roles of industrialization contributing to environmental concerns, the identification of methods of environmental clean-up, the effects on human health, species diversity, and productivity. Laboratory exercises and field trips to local industries are designed to give students ā€œhands-onā€ experiences with environmental instrumentation and applications. Lecture 3 hours. Laboratory 3 hours. (Laboratory fee required) This course cannot be challenged.

    Prerequisites: Admission to the School of Business and BUSI 313 with a ā€œCā€ or better. Introduces the student to the major marketing management concepts that provide the basis for understanding multinational and global marketing concepts and tools. Attention is given to determine market potential, product modification, communication across languages and cultures, and unique distribution channels.

    Prerequisites: Admission to the School of Business and ENGL 112. Managerial decision-making in the legal environment including an overview of the American justice system, with emphasis on the formation and performance of contracts, the interaction of agency law and business liability, protections afforded intellectual property, and the impact on environmental, antitrust and securities regulation on businesses. Instruction and discussion will be grounded in a Christian worldview thereby providing students on a basis for confidence in reaching decisions within the framework of the rules of law.

    Prerequisites: Admission to the School of Business, Junior or Senior standing, or special approval; prior SIFE experience at the volunteer (i.e. non-credit) level; Instructor approval required. The course will focus on goal setting, project planning and management, marketing, financing, and implementing student directed educational projects worldwide. The projects are aimed at increasing citizen awareness and understanding of business and economic issues, based on the criteria set by the Students in Free Enterprise national organization. Students will create, deploy, and access projects dealing with: Market Economics, Success Skills, Entrepreneurship, Financial Literacy, Environmental Sustainability, and Business Ethics. Students may earn up to 6 hours of BUSI 357 credit. However, only 3 hours of credit may be applied to the general business elective requirements. The course may be offered for 1, 2, or 3 credits.

    Prerequisites: Admission to the School of Business and BUSI 313. This course provides concepts and tools to help managers of private nonprofit organizations (educational, religious, healthcare, arts, community service, etc.) achieve organizational objectives by effectively marketing their organizations, programs and services. Emphases will include (but not limited to): market research, development of marketing strategies, funding, volunteer recruitment and management, staffing, selection of board members, and integrated marketing communications.

    Prerequisites: Admission to the School of Business and BUSI 336. Explores the impact of the Uniform Commercial Code on business operations. For students pursuing an emphasis in accounting and others desiring a broad and yet detailed knowledge of commercial law. Topics covered include sales, commercial paper, corporations, partnerships, joint ventures, sole proprietorships, bailment and agency. Attention to Christian ethics and proper business conduct will be emphasized throughout the course.

    Prerequisites: Admission to the School of Business and BUSI 317 with a ā€œCā€ or better. This course is intended to help students gain an appreciation for the role of organizations in the larger social context by considering the historical, political, psychological, sociological, philosophical, and economic foundations of human organization. Students will explore the many factors that determine the success and failure of organizations in achieving their objectives by considering many crucial links between organizational elements such as organizational structure, strategy, technology, and the environment. Students will apply the concepts explored in class to various organizational scenarios as required by class assignments.

    Prerequisites: Admission to the School of Business, BUSI 321 and BUSI 327 with a ā€œCā€ or better. Accounting principles applied to fundamental financial statement analysis. Topics include models of shareholder value, a comparison of accrual accounting and discounted cash flows, pro-forma analysis and the determination of earnings and market ratios.

    Prerequisites: Admission to the School of Business and BUSI 317 with a ā€œCā€ or better. This senior-level management course focuses attention on the structures, processes and outcomes of organizations and the ways those organizations can be developed and transformed through change. Special emphasis will be placed on examining a variety of conceptual models that can offer insight into both the character of organizations (and the changes they undergo) and how these characteristics offer insight into purposeful change intervention.
