    This course introduces pathophysiological processes that contribute to many different disease states across the lifespan and human responses to those processes.     This sequel to Clinical Pharmacology II continues to provide the theoretical background that enables students to provide safe and effective care related to drugs and natural products to persons throughout the lifespan. Students will learn to make selected clinical decisions regarding using current, reliable sources of information, monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of drug therapy, teaching persons from diverse populations regarding safe and effective use of drugs and natural products, intervening to increase therapeutic benefits and reduce potential negative effects, and communicating appropriately with other health professionals regarding drug therapy. The course addresses additional classes of drugs and related natural products not contained in Clinical Pharmacology II.     Qualified students work at training sites that provide experience appropriate to their major. These experiences will provide the opportunity for students to gain knowledge of the various tasks performed in their career field. A student may take any number of CWE credits per term, not to exceed 13 credits per year. Prerequisite: Instructor approval. 1 credit = 33 hours of lab.

    First course of a three-term sequence. Students study career opportunities, attributes for career success, goal setting, self-assessment, and human relations in the work setting. In addition, students learn telephone techniques, and filing, with an emphasis in alphabetic filing. 4 lecture hrs/wk. F,W

    A lab-oriented class wherein students produce professional, office-style documents using popular software for word processing, spreadsheets, and database management.     Students participate in all aspects of a job search, including resume and interview preparation. They will develop a marketable skill in data entry on the computer.
