Prerequisite: Three credits in a 200-level literature course (or equivalent). Generally open only to upper-class students with at least 12 hours of English. To register, the student must write a proposal and have it approved by the supervising instructor, the director of undergraduate studies and the departmental chair. It may not be used for a writing project. This course is designed for students who wish to do extensive reading and writing in a subject not duplicated by any English course in this bulletin.
