Explores the role of the teacher as related to the exceptional child in the general education classroom. Emphasizes developing knowledge of various conditions of exceptionalities, available resources, and educational alternatives through a “learning styles” and case studies approach, with particular emphasis on working with students with exceptional needs in the general classroom. Strategies for including exceptional students will provide a foundation for pre-service teachers in developing differentiated materials and activities.
