Psychology 390: Counseling Theory and Process

is designed to broaden the student's knowledge and understanding of counseling through lectures, readings, and an experiential lab component. The student will learn the basic theoretical perspectives of counseling, the fundamental process of counseling, and the relationship between theory and process. The lab component will engage the student in rudimentary skill building in the area of counseling. The theories and procedures presented in the course can be adapted to and used in a wide variety of settings, including social work, education, and traditional psychological service settings.
