4 semester hours Prerequisite(s): HNRS 150, nine semester hours of honors seminars, and a research methods course in the student's discipline or permission of the instructor The Major Honors Project is a serious research, writing, and/or creative project. As an independent study, it gives students the opportunity to pursue and explore in detail a topic of interest in their major field under the supervision of a faculty mentor. It is completed during the student's senior year and is required to graduate with recognition as an Honors Scholar. The best preparation for the Major Honors Project is solid grounding in the major field and familiarity with the research approaches of the discipline.
