A one-semester introduction to computer science, with an emphasis on designing algorithms and implementing those algorithms using a computer programming language Currently Java). Students will also learn some elementary concepts from the field of computer science. Students will apply these concepts and skills to various modern multimedia projects. For example, students might create digital image filters, splice and reverse digital sounds, create visualizations of sounds, and implement digital video special effects.(4 credits)
