(3 credits) Helps students practice and improve listening and speaking skills as needed for functioning successfully in academic, professional and personal settings. Assesses students' oral skills and includes, as needed, practice with pronunciation, rhythm, stress, and intonation. Provides exercises, practices, small and large group activities, and oral presentations to help students overcome problems in oral communication. Lecture 3 hours per week.

(3 credits) Prerequisite: ENG 05 if required by individual student's placement. Corequisites: MTH 115 and ETR 126. Studies current flow in direct and alternating current circuits with emphasis upon practical problems. Reviews mathematics used in circuit calculations. Introduces concepts of resistance, capacitance, inductance and magnetism. Focuses on electronics/circuits application. Lecture 3 hours per week.

(3 credits) Prerequisites: ETR 115 and ETR 126. Provides laboratory verification of the theory of active devices and circuits such as diodes, power supplies, transistors (BJTs), amplifiers and their parameters, FETs and operational amplifiers. May also include UJTs, oscillators, RF amplifiers, thermionic devices, and other devices. Lecture 2 hours + lab 3 hours, total 5 hours per week.

(3 credits) Corequisites: ETR 115, MTH 115. An introduction to systematic troubleshooting skills. Includes symbols, modes of failure, schematics, physical wiring diagrams and use of basic test instruments. Lecture 2 hour + lab 3 hours, total 5 hours per week.

(2 credits) Prerequisites: ETR 115 and ETR 126. Includes presentation and demonstration on rotating devices, single phase and polyphase distribution, magnetic devices, circuits and systems for industrial applications. May require preparation of a report as an out-of-class activity. Lecture 2 hours per week.
