MAT 141: Mathematical Concepts I

Prerequisites: MAT 080, MAT 090, MAT 095, MAT 120, MAT 121, MAT 161, MAT 171, or MAT 175 This course is the first of a two-course sequence that develops a deeper understanding and appreciation of the basic concepts of mathematics. Emphasis is placed on sets, logic, number bases, elementary number theory, introductory algebra, measurement including metrics, and problem solving. Upon completion, students should be able to communicate orally and in writing these basic mathematical concepts.
