As a capstone experience, students examine current problems based on an Earth-systems approach utilizing a combination of field, laboratory, and literature study. Emphasizes application of prior geological knowledge and problem solving skills in the context of individual or small group student research projects under direct faculty supervision. Requires written reports and oral presentations of results in approved professional format.
