HEA 340, 366, and 466; admission to professional program; for community health education concentration; or permission of instructor; overall 2.50 GPA; grade of C or better in all required HEA courses; must have current certification in Community First Aid and Safety and CPR. Grade: Pass/Not Pass (P/NP) Minimum 320 contact hours. Experience in using public health education techniques and practices in a community organization/agency. Emphasis on functioning as a professional health educator under supervision. (Spring)

Pr. junior or senior standing Survey of adolescent health problems and needs. Focus on epidemiological trends, behavioral and social etiological factors, and public health interventions to reduce specific adolescent health problems. (Spring)

Pr. junior or senior standing Overview of issues affecting health promotion among immigrant and refugee populations. Focus on migration, dislocation, resettlement, adjustment, historical, epidemiological, behaviors, cultural, socioeconomic, and political factors, and interventions to address needs. (Spring)
