Theoretical perspectives of creative process, the nature of creativity in collaborative work, crossing disciplines, and group process will be addressed. Capstone is the culminating course requirement for the Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance Studies. It is an opportunity for the student to explore and discover the connections between the discipline of dance and another selected area of study. Students will be expected to create an in-depth senior project which illustrates and focuses on this resulting integration of disciplines. Students will be required to present and discuss the development as well as other aspects of their project in class, and they will also be required to present their final project in a public forum to students and faculty. A written synthesis of the process and project reflecting on the student’s ability to create meaningful connections between disciplines is also required. Prerequisites: senior standing and permission of the instructor.
