1-4 cr. Individual studies to meet identified, student needs. Prerequisite: admission to program and consent of instructor. May be repeated for a maximum of 4 credits. Restricted to majors. The following courses are offered at the branch campuses only.

4 cr. Power plant lab safety, applied mathematics, inorganic and aliphatic chemistry, quality control and assurance, analytical procedures, sample preparation, and weighing and measuring techniques. Restricted to majors.

2.00 Credits
2 cr. Safety procedures, car dumpers and bulldozers, coal pile management and coal preparation equipment, conveyors and ash handling procedures. Restricted to OEPO, OEIM majors.

5.00 Credits
5 cr. Basic power plant operations, science, cycle and power plant auxiliaries. Restricted to OEIC, OEIE majors.

5 cr. Power plant systems, basic water chemistry, fuels and combustion, and boilers. Prerequisite: OEPO 103. Restricted to OEIC, OEIE majors.

4 cr. Power plant water treatment, turbines, and environmental protection systems. Prerequisites: OEPO 103 and OEPO 104. Restricted to OEIC, OEIE majors.

4 cr. Power generation principles, plant protection systems, and operation of gas turbines and diesels. Prerequisites: OEPO 103, OEPO 104 and OEPO 105. Restricted to OEIC, OEIE majors.

6 cr. Introduction to the major systems and components of the modern power plant. Principles and application of plant mathematics for conversion factors, calculation formulas, applied plant science for energy conversion, plant cycle and changes in the properties of water and steam as fluid flows through plant cycle components. Restricted to majors.

6 cr. Introduction to auxiliary equipment associated with the flow of fluids through power plant systems, system diagrams and symbols, basic electricity, and power plant instrumentation. Basic water chemistry, boiler water treatment techniques and water treatment equipment operations. Prerequisite: OEPO 110. Restricted to majors.

6 cr. Fuels and combustion, boiler components, water treatment components, turbine operation, control and instrumentation. Power plant environmental protection operations. Prerequisites: OEPO 110 and OEPO 180. Restricted to majors.
