4 cr. (3+2P) Introduction to drain, waste, and vent systems; and to water distribution systems. Techniques for selecting, cutting, and installing cast iron and steel pipe and fittings. Prerequisite: working as plumber's apprentice.

6 cr. (5+2P) Installation and testing procedures for drain waste and vent systems. Introduction to commercial drawings and intermediate plumbing math. Prerequisites: working as plumber's apprentice and completed first year of apprenticeship program.

5 cr. (4+2P) Installation, connection, and testing of water distribution systems. Installation and servicing of valves and faucets. Installation of water heaters, water meters, and various plumbing fixtures. Prerequisites: working as plumber's apprentice and completed first year of apprenticeship program.

6 cr. (4+4P) Air conditioning system design and maintenance including evaporative coolers and refrigerated air conditioning systems, ventilation, control systems, and sizing. Air properties and psychometrics. Prerequisite: OEPB 102 or consent of instructor. Same as OEAR 207.

4 cr. (3+2P) Heating system design and maintenance including forced-air, hydronic, ventilation, control systems, equipment selection, and sizing. Prerequisite: OEPB 102 or consent of instructor. Same as OEAR 209.

3 cr. Working in the field with journeymen service technicians. Developing and applying job skills. Graded S/U. Prerequisite: consent of instructor. Restricted to OEPB and OEAR majors.

6 cr. (5+2P) Reading commercial plumbing drawings. Introduction to regional and local plumbing codes, vents, and venting installation of indirect and special waste systems, sewage and sump pumps, and water lines. Advanced math for plumbers. Prerequisites: working as plumber's apprentice and completed second year of apprenticeship program.

4 cr. (3+2P) Function, operation, and installation of pressure booster systems, shock arrestors, backflow preventers, recirculation systems, and water filtering and softening systems. Installing and sanitizing water supply lines, fixture rough-in, plumbing for solar heating systems, and sizing, piping, and venting natural gas systems. Prerequisites: working as plumber's apprentice and completed second year of apprenticeship program.

5 cr. (4+2P) Plumbing theory, task organization, sizing vents, drainage systems, and water supply piping. Combination waste and vent systems, traps, and interceptors, and servicing plumbing fixtures. Prerequisites: working as plumber's apprentice and completed third year of apprenticeship program.
