Introduces students to a word processing program to create, edit, save, and print documents. Lecture 1 hour per week.

Develops an understanding of the administrative support role and the skills necessary to provide organizational and technical support in a contemporary office setting. Emphasizes the development of critical-thinking, problem-solving, and job performance skills in a business office environment. Lecture 3 hours per week. Prerequisite: AST 101.

Supervised on-the-job training in approved business, industrial, and service firms coordinated by the College. Applicable to all career and technical and transfer curricula at the discretion of the College. May be repeated for credit. Variable hours.

3.00 Credits
Studies small gasoline engine operating principles, construction, design, variety, and their many purposes. Gives instruction on two-cycle and four-cycle small gas engines, their construction, design, fuel system, ignition system, and lubricating systems. Demonstrates disassembly, reconditioning, overhaul and re-assembly in the lab. Lecture 1-2 hours. Laboratory 2-3 hours. Total 3-5 hours per week.

Explores fundamental characteristics of living matter from the molecular level to the ecological community with emphasis on general biological principles. Introduces the diversity of living organisms, their structure, function, and evolution. Lecture and lab must be taken concurrently. Lecture 3 hours. Laboratory 3 hours. Total 6 hours per week. Prerequisites: MTH 3 or SAT 480 or ACT 20. BIO 101 is a prerequisite for BIO 102. Co-requisite: BIO 101 lab for BIO 101 and BIO102 lab for BIO 102.

Presents the basic concepts of environmental science through a topical approach. Includes the scientific method, population growth, and migration, use of natural resources and waste management, ecosystem simplification recovery, evolution, bio-geochemical cycles, photosynthesis and global warming, geological formations, atmosphere and climate, and ozone depletion and acid deposition. Lecture and laboratory must be taken in the same semester. Lecture 3 hours. Laboratory 3 hours. Total 6 hours per week. Prerequisite: MTH 3 or SAT 480 or ACT 20. Co-requisite BIO 107 lab.
