Focuses on providing the student with a working knowledge of introductory email function. Includes the basic concepts of customizing email and using all the email capabilities for reading, creating, sending emails, managing calendar functions and managing contacts, tasks, and notes. Lecture 1 hour per week. Recommend: 20 wpm and mouse proficiency.

Provides K-12 classroom teachers with the knowledge and skills needed to fulfill the Commonwealth of Virginia's Technology Standards for Instructional Personnel. Students will finish the course with a solid understanding of educational technology, including how to use computers, how to access the World Wide Web, and how to integrate computers and educational technology into classroom curriculum. Students will learn how to base technology integration decisions on contemporary learning theories. Lecture 3 hours per week. Recommend: 20 wpm and mouse proficiency.

Incorporates advanced computer concepts including the integration of a software suite. Prerequisite: ITE 115, CSC 110, or ITE 120.

Covers instruction about processors, internal functions, peripheral devices computer organization, memory management, architecture, instruction format, and basic OS architecture. Lecture 3 hours per week. Prerequisite: CSC 110.

Provides instruction in networking media, physical and logical topologies, common networking standards and popular networking protocols. Emphasizes the TCP/IP protocol suite and related IP addressing schemes, including CIDR. Includes selected topics in network implementation, support and LAN/WAN connectivity. Lecture 4 hours per week. Prerequisite: IST 114, ITE 115, ITE 119, ITE 120 or any networking certification.

Teaches use of operating system utilities and multiple level directory structures, creation of batch files, and configuration of microcomputer environments. May include a study of graphical user interfaces. Maps to A+ Software. Lecture 3 hours per week. Prerequisite: ITE 127, ITE 115, ITE 120, or CSC 110.

Consists of instruction in installation, configuration, administration, and troubleshooting of Windows XP Professional as a desktop operating system in a networked data communication environment. Prepares students for Microsoft Exam #70-270. Lecture 3 hours per week. Prerequisite: ITN 101 or Network+ certification.

Consists of instruction that teaches students how to manage and maintain a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 environment. Prepares students for Microsoft Exam #70-290. Lecture 4 hours per week. Prerequisite: ITN 101 or Network+ certification.
