This course focuses on the interpretation of dental radiographs. Normal dental anatomy in intraoral, extraoral, and panoramic imaging are detailed, and coordinated with the students Head and Neck Anatomy course for reinforcement of principles. Interpretation of dental caries, periodontal disease, and periapical lesions are covered. The current FDA/ADA guidelines for prescribing dental radiographs are discussed, along with their coordination with clinical information.
