This course is designed to prepare students for upper-level French and Francophone literature courses with a focus on methods used for the interpretation of literary texts through critical and imaginative readings of poetry, theater, and prose. It thus offers a survey of the major genres, styles, and periods of French and Francophone literature. In conjunction with this exposure to important texts, students will develop the critical skills necessary for textual interpretation. P: FRN 411 and 412.
