The growth and development of the young child is applied through the use of developmentally appropriate active learning activities. An early childhood curriculum is used to determine the choices of developmentally appropriate activities and lesson plans. The student is challenged to meet the developmental needs by planning for the environment with appropriate materials and equipment. Observation of infants and toddlers during their daily routines and activities are documented and used to prepare the student for working with young children.
